About the Author

Dr. Clare Barton qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2001 and worked as a General Practitioner in the UK from 2007. As a GP she developed an interest in mental health and holistic medicine, incorporating acupuncture into her medical practice for over 10 years. She now mainly focuses on medical education, developing courses to help current practicing doctors pass their postgraduate exams.

She has a lifelong passion for health and fitness and has been a practicing martial artist for over 25 years. This began whilst at medical school with Shotokan karate, and she achieved her first degree black belt in 2004. In January 2015 she began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is now a purple belt, training regularly at Kingston Jiu Jitsu with her husband and three children.
